Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Cobnote ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use cobnote.com and our services (the "Service"). By using Cobnote, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive or store your password.

b) User Content

We collect the audio recordings, PDFs, text, and other materials you upload or create in the Service, along with the AI-generated notes, transcripts, quizzes, and flashcards derived from them.

c) Usage & Device Data

We automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, referring pages, and interactions with the Service. This helps us operate, secure, and improve Cobnote.

d) Payment Information

Payments are processed by our payment provider (Creem). We do not store your full card number. We receive limited information such as your subscription status, plan, and the last four digits of your card to manage billing.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • Process your uploads and generate AI outputs (notes, summaries, etc.);
  • Authenticate you and secure your account;
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • Communicate with you about updates, support, and security notices;
  • Improve the Service and develop new features;
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. AI Processing

To generate notes, transcripts, summaries, quizzes, and translations, your User Content is sent to third-party AI providers for processing. These providers process your data on our behalf and are contractually required not to use it to train their own models, except where you have explicitly opted in.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate Cobnote, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage), our AI model providers, and Creem (payments);
  • Legal authorities, when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public;
  • Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality protections.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and User Content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial records).

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most of these rights from your account settings or by contacting us at emreozturkx33@gmail.com.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Türkiye, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Transfers

Cobnote operates globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union, where data-protection laws may differ. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected wherever it is processed.

9. Children's Privacy

Cobnote is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect parts of the Service.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
